I need to listen furiously!

Listen Furiously!
That is how we are to listen when we experience Swahili. I have been to conferences where we talk about how important it is to listen furiously when trying to enter into another langua-cultural world.
You know what I realized today...
I need to put the same effort into listening to my children that I put into listening to people speaking Swahili. Lots of times I feel like my kids are from different langua-cultural worlds. :) This is mostly when there is lots going on and I am only partly paying attention to them. I was reminded today that they notice everything. My eldest and I had a chat tonight before bed and it came out that I have embarrassed her a few times because I wasn't listening to her furiously. I know that they have A LOT of things they want to tell me daily. I am working on being a better listener to them. There are the times when I hear, "Mommy, Mommy, Mommy, Mommy..." only to be told something they had just told me and forgot because they are watching a movie. Those are still important times to listen.
Below are some photos of my precious kiddos taken by a good friend of mine!
I Love, Love, Love, these precious ones I am am entrusted with!
Enjoy!
